One does not simply paint a Ring Pop in place of the ‘one ring’…

Some of my fondest memories as a child were getting my hands on iconic sweets like Ring Pops, Swedish Fish and Twizzlers with my hard earned pocket money. With this collection I’m reimagining my favourite moments in the Lord of the Rings with a sugary, nostalgic twist. And in these dark times it’s comforting we can all unite over high fructose corn syrup and questionable grades of food colouring.

One Ring Pop to drool them all,
One Ring Pop to find them,
One Ring Pop to bring them all
and in the sweetness bind them…

Welcome

Thanks for being here. I thought it’d be worth including a little bit about why I create. My art transports me (and hopefully you) to a place from childhood. When I paint I leave real life behind, and go to this arty fun place with more colour, nostalgia and Aussie 80s/90s icons than you can poke a stick at. And sometimes I like to paint things that aren’t even nostalgic, but are still rad – like hover cats, internet meme culture, and even the occasional phallic object hidden in a fruit bowl. :)
